Scandinavian broadcaster Modern Times Group (MTG) has pre-bought four forthcoming series from an Australian factual producer for its Viasat channels.

MTG World will air the 33 hours of history and wildlife programming on its factual channels Viasat History and Viasat Nature in Scandinavia, CEE, Russia and CIS.

The deal was negotiated on behalf of Canberra-based WildBear Entertainment by independent distribution and programme finance company Wild Thring Media.

The series included in the agreement are Animals that Changed History (6×52'), The 101 Who Made the Twentieth Century (8×52'), The Price of Empire (13×52') and Killing Machines (6×60').

Seniha Tunaboylu, head of content and acquisitions, factual, for MTG World, said: "There is a great appetite for high-quality factual entertainment that is relevant to our European viewers across our network. WildBear’s new series are perfect for our curious audiences, who are constantly looking to be informed, have their minds challenged and be entertained by our factual output.”
